For some reason my Internet isn't working, so that's why I haven't bogged today, but I can't wait for the All Star Game!

Style

Often in sports, if you watch closely, there is a popular style among the players. This is very obvious in baseball, but if you look carefully you notice it in other sports. These are the little things I love about sports, they make them unique. Here are some examples:

Notice how long the pants are? This is common now, but not the original look from
the early 20th Century

Derek Jeter in 2009

Derek Jeter in 2011
Notice, even he made the switch from oldschool to the new look.

See the cleats? This is becoming very popular in soccer.

Kevin Garnett and D Wade bring their style off the court.

Bright socks in the All Star Game.

Daniel Gibson makes his hair style an art form.

Troy Polamalu has made long hair in the NFL very popular.

USA Fights Back, Downs Brazil On PKs

We're Goin' To The Semis!

I have been following the world cup since the Men's last year in South Africa, and I have also been watching Women's this year in Germany and the U.S. has been doing very well. If anyone saw last night we had an incredible comeback victory against Brazil that took two overtimes and a shootout, leading the U.S. to yet another World Cup Semi Final. Good luck! Don't forget to watch U.S. vs. France in the Semi Final round Wednesday at 11:30 ET on ESPN

Facts: The U.S. Women's soccer team is the defending Olympic Gold Medalist

3,000

What other way to start my blog than with a post about Derek Jeter on this historic day? I have always been an Angels fan. Both of my parents were born and grew up in Orange County, CA and have also been lifelong Angels fans. I was born with this passion as well as an extreme hatred of, first, the Dodgers, then the Yankees and the Red Sox. I have always hated Jeter, Rodriguez, Cano, Posada, and the list goes on. But there is no possible way to disrespect someone who hit a homerun for their 3,000th hit and went 5-5 with the winning RBI. This is an incredible milestone, congratulations Derek, but you will always be number 2. :)

Facts: Derek Jeter is the 28th player to reach 3,000 career hits. He is the first Yankee to do it.
